Geez, deep question. Or, insightful, even. Ba dum dum.
There are many definitions of love out there, of course.
I think, for me, love is about kindness. You want the best for those whom you love. You don’t wish bad things on them, you aren’t jealous of their accomplishments, you want them to be happy – with or without you.
It is also about honesty, because you should not fake love. We all have days where we love our families and friends, but we may not like them that much. But the love is still there. If you don’t feel that, let them go. They deserve better and so do you.
It is about compromise, especially on the superficial things. Bob and I compromise on many things, and we agree to disagree.
However, our core values are the same, and that is very important.
It’s about joy. It doesn’t matter where I’ve been or how long I’ve been gone, I still look forward to seeing Bob every time I come home.
That is love, at least to me. How about you?
