Friend-filled Day

Hi all. I am so sorry that I didn’t post yesterday. I know you’re not supposed to apologize for not posting, but I feel like I should.  So I am.  I just have had a small bout of writer’s block going.  I’ve never had that in my entire life, so I’m a bit frustrated by it.  I am even having trouble coming up with witty Facebook Updates.

Normally I have 405 things to speak about, but not right now.  Oh, I have book reviews to do, decorating ideas to post, blah blah blah. But I am having trouble focusing on health and wellness – and I don’t know why.

Hopefully it will wrap up soon!

Festivities

Today I had a busy social calendar:D

First up:  Meeting my friends Heidi and Cindy for lunch at Matt the Miller’s.

We all used to work at a logistics company together.

I ordered the Matt’s Burger, which is topped with pepper jack cheese, onion rings, lettuce, tomato and a secret sauce on a whole wheat bun.  As you can see, I removed the lettuce and the onion ring.  On the side are sweet potato fries.

You know, growing up, I was convinced I hated sweet potatoes – even though I had never tried them.  I’m so glad that Bob introduced me to them (i.e. made me taste them).

The meal was very good; the company even better. But the service SUUUCKED.  I don’t know what was going on with our waitress, but she would disappear for large amounts of time.

Which is why I was so late to…

My meet-up with Miss Andrea. We met at Tehku Tea for some shop talk and kvetching.

I had an Iced Cherry Blossoms Green Tea.  It was quite yummy.  And of course, again, wonderful company. :D

Then it was time for me to hit Easton for some time with…

Munchesmom.  We went to Abuelo’s for dinner.

I cropped myself out of the pic, because it was truly an awful pic of me.

Munchesmom looks fabulous.

I had the Shrimp Fajitas (and forgot to take a picture of that.) But we each ordered dessert.

I ordered the Dulce de Leche, which is cheesecake whipped

with Mexican caramel and served with sweetened milk sauce.

Munchesmom ordered the Tres Leches Cake,

which is a sweet vanilla cake with three creams.

While both were good, we both liked the Tres Leches cake better.

Then I came home to see Bob and am trying to catch up on all of my online stuff.

I hope that all of you are starting a fabulous weekend. I’ll talk to you soon!!

What do you mean "whipped with Mexican"? Mexican what or is there an actual Mexican in there? Because that's like really hardcore! ;)

I love sweet potatoes but sweet potato pie almost lead to my tragic downfall. ;)

Yeah, worrying about the Mexican here too! What a nice day. One of my favourite when-in-America dishes is baked sweet potato with marshmallows. I found the concept shocking at first but soon got over myself once I tasted it.

WOW! Can we say "Extreme Close-up" of my face? I hope that doesn't scare any of your readers…LOL! Had a great time w/ you & yes, that dessert was divine! (Casinodad was a bit jealous & "hurt" that I didn't bring any home for him.)
