About Me:

Hello!  My name is Angela and Pretty in Orange is my blog.  It incorporates my two previously separate blogs, The World According to Lawgirl and Fattie Fatterton and features new material since I made the switch in June of 2010.

I am in my late 30s (I have NO idea how that happened!), but through genetics I only look like I’m in my mid- to late-20s.  Seriously – on the rare occasions I drink, I still get carded!  I lead a wonderful life here in Columbus, OH,  with my fiance, Bob, and our two cats, Ophelia and Ming. When I’m employed, I’m a corporate trainer.  Unfortunately I have been  unemployed for about 18 months now, but hopefully things will turn around soon.

Bob and I have been engaged for 2.5 years now.  I don’t know if or when we’ll take the plunge, but we feel married already.  We call each other husband and wife and it’s just not that important to us to make it legal.  We’re not having kids (he has two grown children from his first marriage), so we’re happy as we are.

I’ve been blogging for nearly 5 years now.  I think it’s the best (mostly free) therapy in the world.  And,it’s led me to a wonderful community.

I’ve recently found a passion for group fitness (who knew!?) and am enjoying Zumba and Yoga.  I would love to teach one of them someday.

My family is not close, so my friends are the family I’ve chosen.  I love being with them and the genuine attachment we have to each other.  No judgments, no drama (between each other, at least) and a lot of laughter.

About the blog:

I love to talk about health, fashion, interior design and philanthropy.  I couldn’t just settle on one thing to blog about, so I chose them all.

I do have a blogging schedule:

• Etsy Like Sunday Morning:  My favorite Etsy finds.  These are on the Glitter page. This is a weekly feature.
• Monday Night Book Club:  Book reviews.  These are on the Reflections page. This is a weekly feature.
• Tuesdays in my City:   I show you different parts of Columbus.  These are on the Main page.  This is a semi-regular feature.
• Hump Day Love:  Wednesdays.  It depends upon the subject as to what page this shows up on.  This is a weekly feature.
• Food Diary Friday:  A recap of my eating for the week.  This is on the Glow page.  This is a weekly feature.
• Sumptuous Saturday:  Interior Design inspirations.  These are on the Flavor page.  This is a weekly feature.

When I started Lawgirl, I was in law school, hence the name.  My life has changed quite a bit since then (I wasn’t able to finish law school) and the moniker “Lawgirl” really didn’t fit who I was anymore.  I am not worried about full anonymity anymore, so I am using my real first name on here.

I started Fattie Fatterton to be separate from Lawgirl as well.  However, I wanted to put all of my interests into one blog.  The great thing about Pretty in Orange is that you can read as much or as little as you want.   You can subscribe to the entire blog or you can pick and choose individual pages to follow.

Why Pretty in Orange?

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that orange is my favorite color.  And that may seem odd to people, as many people actually hate the color orange.

I love the color orange. To me it is such a happy color.  And that is how I choose to live my life – I choose happiness.  There are many things in my life that could have turned me into a bitter person, but I chose to take a different path.

So, I wear orange (and as a redhead, I can) and I feel as though the whole world is smiling.

What you will find here:

• Main Page (Home Page)
  • This is where most of the entries that made up The World According to Lawgirl are.  I’m still going through all of the entries and putting them in their proper places, but you will see all of the recent entries. 
  • This is also where you will find the navigation to the other pages, which operate independent of each other.
  • Main also has posts that don’t apply to the other categories, plus any blog housekeeping news.
• Reflections
  • This is where any and all product, book, movie, music, etc. reviews will go.
• Glow
  • This is where all of the posts from Fattie Fatterton are now.
  • This is the healthy living portion of the blog.
• Glitter
  • Anything to do with shopping, fashion or beauty is here.
• Flavor
  • This is where you can find posts about decorating ideas.
• Goals
  • All of my updates about my 2010 Goals will be here.
• Charity of the Month
  • All posts about Charity of the Month will be here.

Subscribing

• Each page has this button in the top right-hand corner.
• If you choose to subscribe from the Main page, you will be subscribing to the feeds for all sections of the blog.  One –stop shopping!
• I am hoping that in the future you will have the option of subscribing to the Main page only as well, but for now if you go with Main, you get it all.
• If you would rather pick and choose individual pages to which you wish to subscribe, click on the on the particular page.  You will only receive updates on that page or pages.
