Someone pointed me toward DecorPad today, and I can’t remember who it was, so for that I apologize. But I love this site now and wanted to share it with you.
From the website:

Here are some lovely rooms and items I found on the site:
Look at how gorgeous this room is. And just looking at it, I can see how easy it would be to recreate. You could easily find a version of the bedside table at HomeGoods and then paint it with silver paint. You could also paint the walls a solid gray or even do gray and white stripes if you didn’t want to put up wallpaper.
Okay, the wallpaper is WAY too much for me. But I love how they made it work by having everything else in white or taupe. I could see the base Tiffany blue of the wallpaper as a solid color on the walls. I think that the room would feel just as luxurious.
A lot of folks believe that they can’t combine bold colors and pastels. But it works when you do it right. The pillows and window coverings along with the white bedding become neutrals when you bring in the chair, the desk, and the pictures.
Don’t hate me, but I am in love with this wallpaper. I would do it as framed panels, though, like what we talked about last week. I don’t like the quilt/comforter AT ALL. I love the yellow with the gray. And I hate the accent pillow on the bench.
This room is pretty much perfect for me. I love the headboard, the bench, the touch of black via the bedside tables, etc. But most of all? Look at that closet space!
Looking for a cheap yet chic alternative to buying paintings to adorn your walls?
Look no further than a wallpaper swatch book.
The wallpaper here gives the room an Asian flair.
It also showcases the hot trend of orange and gray.
Place them in a hallway with molding framing it to create an elegant space.
Placing it above the sofa in an alcove like this creates the illusion of windows, of light.
Placing the framed wallpaper behind the sofa can also create drama
and make a space feel bigger.
Using framed wallpaper as a headboard gives a luxurious feel to this bedroom.
I am in love with this bedroom. I love the pattern on the headboard with
the pattern on the pillows with the pattern on the bed.
This time the wallpaper headboard creates a soft, cozy feeling.
Hi all. I just wanted to make a couple of blog-related announcements.
1. I changed the comments from IntenseDebate to Disqus.
You can now comment via your Disqus account, Facebook, Twitter, OpenID or Yahoo. If you don’t have any of those or if you would prefer to not comment via any of those methods, you can hit the “Post As” button down in the right hand corner. That will open up another dialogue box where you can comment just using your email and/or your name. You will also then have the option of linking to your website.
2. Because publishing #reverb10 and Christmas for Your Insides is already publishing twice a day, everyday, I am going to temporarily stop my regular blogging posts of Etsy Like Sunday Morning, Monday Night Book Club, Hump Day Love, Food Diary Friday, and Sumptuous Saturdays. I just don’t want you guys to get bogged down in getting 3-4 posts daily from me on a regular basis. They’ll resume in the new year, I promise!!
Thanks everyone! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Hi all!
We have two events coming up for Ohio bloggers.
1. Holiday Treat Swap for our Cleveland bloggers
It’s time for the next CLE Blogger get together: for December, we’re
having a Holiday Treat Swap!
It will take place on Thursday, December 2nd at the home of Alicia –
blogger at Poise in Parma (http://poiseinparma.com/). That evening
…she’ll have some appetizers to snack on as well as some select
wines/beers/beverages to enjoy.
After grabbing some food and drink, and socialized a bit, the treat
swap will go down – probably around 8:00PM. When the swap happens,
we’ll gather with our empty containers and slowly go around the table
grabbing a few cookies from each plate as we go around until they are
all gone!
Basic rules include:
-Please bring 5 dozen total cookies/treats. Arrange cookies in a
basket or platter for easy grabbing.
-Please bring a large container to carry away your haul of goodies!
-If you email a copy of your recipe to Alicia (poiseinparma@gmail.com)
before the party, she will make copies for everyone attending.
…and don’t worry: we’ll have the Cavs game on the big screen to
watch our home town boys crush the Miami Heat that evening!
Please contact Alicia at poiseinparma@gmail.com with any questions.
- Thursday, December 2 from 7pm to 10pm
- Alicia’s home (she will forward you directions once you RSVP)
You can RSVP by:
- Visiting the OBA Facebook page HERE
- Emailing Alicia at alicia [at] poiseinparma [dot] com

With people downsizing to smaller spaces, spaces are doing double-duty.
Maybe your living room is also your office. Maybe your dining room is also your library.
Here are some spaces that do this beautifully.
This lovely space is both a living room and a dining room – but it doesn’t feel as though either
space is being shortchanged, does it?
The neutral palette really ties it all together.
Here a library shelving unit separates the kitchen from the dining room/living room.
It ends up creating three spaces out of one room.
A gorgeous bedroom with an equally gorgeous office hiding in the closet.
Continuing the color palette pulls this all together.
An office in the living room. I have also done this with the desk facing the wall.
I saw a post recently that asked if orange was making comeback.
It never left, baby!
And of course, there are many shades of orange, so you can choose
whether to go bold or light with it.
I am in love with this lamp. And it’s a great pop of color in a neutral room.
Beautiful. Love the chair, love the pillow, and love the art that picks up the color as well.
Gorgeous chair! I really love the fabric on the seat. I would love that for drapes.
I can’t afford to buy anything from Hermes, but I love their boxes.
Even a key chain is over $200.
I know that the picture is fuzzy – sorry about that.
But I have to tell you, I never saw this combination coming. It’s gorgeous!
But I DID know about grays and orange together. In fact, I wear them like this.
I am so in love with that rug, it’s not even funny. And the drapes with it – fantastic!
Second Meeting Recap
Hi all. We had our second gathering for the Ohio Blogging Association this past Friday night, again at J. Liu’s in Worthington.
what I love about our group is meeting so many great people. I wanted to talk a little about the folks that I met Friday night.
Lorenzo and his wife, Tima, decided to come out at the last minute and I’m so glad that they did! They were just delightful and so much fun.
Lorenzo is the webmaster of New Harvest Cafe and Urban Arts Center. It’s a gorgeous website; take a look! I wish I would have known about the New Harvest Cafe before. I had a friend who was new to the area ask me where a good place in Columbus for soul food was and I would have gladly referred her to this place. I plan on checking it out myself.
In addition to wonderful food, they have live performances.
Lorenzo also had three directory websites:
http://theblackchurchdirectory.com/
http://blackbusinessdirectorycolumbusohio.com/
http://churchcolumbus.com/
Lorenzo and Tima had not been to J. Liu’s before and they really enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and even were able to meet Jason (the owner) himself! We had a wonderful time and I look forward to spending more time with them.
Next Meeting
Because of the holidays and Ohio’s always surprising weather, we will be doing a TweetChat (meaning, meeting via Twitter) for our December Social Hour.
- Ohio Blogging Association December Social Hour
- Wednesday, December 8
- Via TweetChat (information to follow)
- From 7pm to 8pm

I love bedrooms. And I love beds. I support Hugh Hefner’s right to wear
jammies all of the time. Because, that means that you get to go to bed
whenever you want to. I have lived in my bedroom before – when I
was a child living at home, it was the only place I could get any space to myself.
I have lived in my bedroom as an adult – when I was traveling 75% of the time and
the only room I had unpacked in my house was the bedroom.
So, it’s no surprise that I love daybeds and how they can be used outside of the bedroom.
Even though I’m not normally a “blue” person, this color palette is just gorgeous.
Look at how the drapes pick up the color from the daybed. Look at the pillow on the daybed
that is also on the chairs next to it. Gorgeous!! And the daybed becomes a great place
for conversation, for entertaining, for a lazy day of reading.
Look at this elegant space. The daybed, doubles as a couch, and also as a guest bed.
This is a full-sized daybed – great for sleepovers, for relaxing for homework.
Daybeds are beautiful. But an even more streamlined solution is the use of twin beds.
This lovely sectional is really twin beds pushed end to end.
Great solution for a dorm room or for your kids sharing a room at home.
Great seating for a small space.
Sorry we’re a bit late today – I thought that I was going to have internet access this weekend, but it turned out to not work for me.
Your entryway is the first thing that welcomes your guests to your home.
Here are some lovely benches and chairs that you could use to spruce it up.
I love the built-in bench and storage.
I haven’t seen the rest of the house, but just based on this entryway, I want to.
And based on this entryway, I want to OWN this house. GORGEOUS!!
Of course, if you don’t want to go the bench route, you could use chairs instead.
Lovely with the wood, flowers, and rug.
Beautiful, simple statement at the top of the stairs.
Very pretty at your back door/mud room.
